is an avant-garde electronic music label driven by the spirit of innovation and deep musical exploration. The label serves as the creative vessel for Inner Depth, a collaboration between two Amsterdam-based artists, Genii and The Pretender. Rooted in the thriving underground music scene of the early 2000s, the duo brings a shared history of passion, creativity, and boundary-pushing artistry to their live electronic performances.
The label is a celebration of deep, emotive soundscapes and raw, immersive live sets, blending elements of techno, ambient, and experimental electronica. “Reignite the Inner Depth” is not just a label—it’s a movement to connect with the essence of music, transporting listeners to a space where emotion and rhythm intertwine.
INNER DEPTH
is the electrifying live act born from the decades-long friendship of Genii and The Pretender, two stalwarts of Amsterdam’s underground electronic scene. Meeting in 2005 amidst the city’s burgeoning subculture of warehouse raves and clandestine parties, the duo discovered a shared vision for creating music that defies convention and speaks to the soul.
Genii, known for their intricate sound design and a knack for crafting haunting melodies, and The Pretender, a maestro of rhythmic innovation and hypnotic beats, combine their unique talents to deliver immersive live experiences. At the heart of this mission is their weekly ritual at The Other Side, an iconic Amsterdam club equipped with the groundbreaking L-ISA Spatial Audio sound system by L-Acoustics. This state-of-the-art technology allows them to sculpt sound in three dimensions, offering unparalleled immersion. Every week, Inner Depth gathers in this auditory playground to jam for hours, exploring uncharted sonic territories. These sessions are more than rehearsals—they are moments of pure creative flow, where ideas collide, evolve, and transform into something greater than the sum of their parts.

The Pretender’s focus is on rhythm and texture, the heartbeat and atmosphere of Inner Depth’s sound. His tools of choice are the Elektron Digitakt and a boutique synthesizer—an intimate combination that brings a distinct personality to every performance.
- Digitakt: This drum machine and sampler is The Pretender’s playground for generating unique rhythms and percussive patterns. Its intuitive interface allows him to manipulate sequences on the fly, layering intricate beats and adding dynamic flair to the performance.
- Boutique Synthesizer: With this compact yet powerful instrument, The Pretender crafts lush textures and striking effects, injecting moments of surprise and depth into the set. The synthesizer also allows for live sound design, ensuring each performance is distinct and unrepeatable.
